“You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.” – Mark 7:8.
Rituals and traditions play an important role in society. While it is essential that any group of people must adhere to rules so that everything can run smoothly, it is of the utmost importance that these rules do not become the dominant factor in the Christian community.
The foundation of any congregation must be absolute surrender, devotion and obedience to God. Jesus Christ must be central in all things and His will must take precedence over the will of people.
To be a channel of the love of God, surrender yourself unconditionally to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, then you will be able to serve your community according to God’s will, and in love.
Holy Spirit, bring me to total surrender, devotion, and obedience to the God of love. Amen.
