I LONG FOR YOUR COMMANDS

Scripture:

“Your statutes are wonderful; therefore I obey them. The unfolding of your words gives light. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sign rule over me. – Psalm 119:129-130, 133.

Message:

There are times in life when we long for guidance; long for someone who clearly knows the road ahead, who can help us avoid the potholes and dead-end streets.

This is the kind of desire that the psalmist had for the Word of God – that it would lead him every step of the way. He knew that the Word would lead him to true joy.

In today’s world it often seems easier to desire God’s freedom than His commandments. But the psalmist understood that God’s commandments would bring true joy to his life.

Reaffirm your desire for God’s Word to be your guide through life, today. Pray that God will help you resist the specific sins that cause you to stumble often.

Prayer:

Lord of the World, let your commandments guide me in the right paths. Amen.

STAY BLESSED
