SPIRITUAL GROWTH IS ESSENTIAL

Scripture:

“I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly?” – 1 Corinthians 3:2-3.

Message:

Many people believe that God is great and awesome. In faith they accept that He is love, but refuse to allow Him to fill their lives with that same love. He promised His power to all who serve Him, but they remain weak and powerless. They say they believe in Him, but they don’t experience His loving presence.

The Christian way of life is meant to enrich the life of disciples. When you start becoming spiritually mature, you develop a greater love for others. When the love of Christ saturates you, negative attitudes such as pettiness, jealousy and strife are dissolved. And then you can rise above this immaturity and enjoy the solid food that the Holy Spirit gives.

Prayer:

Lord, I want to know more of Your love daily so that I can love others in turn.. Amen.

REACH FOR SPIRITUAL MATURITY

Sripture:

“When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, i REASONED LIKE A CHILD. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me” – 1 Corinthians 13:11

Message:

Some people’s spiritual journey can be compared to a rocking horse: there is a lot of movement, but little progress. They never achieve spiritual maturity because they allow grudges to poison them with bitterness. Allowing a grudge to fester could harm your spirit and hinder your spiritual development.

Today you have an opportunity to grow by God’s grace, to put the negative behind you, and to reach for a future of exuberant spiritual growth. If you open your heart to the Holy Spirit’s influence, He will help you to forgive and forget – allowing you to concentrate on the things that will bring you spiritual maturity.

Prayer:
Lord, I cannot do anything without You. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I can grow and experience fulfillment in You. Amen.

LIVE FOR CHRIST

Scripture:

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness” – 2 Peter 1:3

Message:

The call to live a Christian life rings out once again, but some of us are so overwhelmed by the intensity of the tasks that our faith falters because of our human weakness.

Yet we do not have to rely on our own abilities to serve God at all. Remember that Christ will not call you to any form of service without equipping you for it. He has set the example and all that He expects from you is to follow Him.

If you commit yourself to Him and place your trust in Him completely, He will provide you with everything that you need to truly live.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I dedicate myself to Your service anew, in the certain knowledge that You will provide everything that I need to live an abundant life. Amen.

BE PATIENT IN PRAYER

Scripture:

“I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what He will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint” – Habakkuk 2:1

Message:

So often people complain that their prayers remain unheard. They become impatient with God and their faith weakens.
Yet it is an established and irrefutable fact that God hears and answers our prayers. However, we need to know His Word to understand that His answer comes in His perfect time, and in His perfect way, according to our needs – not our wishes and will, unless they are in accordance with God.
Truly effective prayer requires us to watch and wait. He will reveal Himself to us and show us His way in His good time.

Prayer:

Father, grant that in times of doubt I will turn to You, that I will hold on to Your constancy and on to the assurance that I have in Jesus Christ. Amen.

A DEVOTIONAL EXERCISE

Scripture:

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction  and faithful in prayer.” – Romans 12:12

Message:

Do you get the maximum spiritual satisfaction from your devotional time? How you answer this question reveals the difference between an ineffective prayer life, and one filled with an awareness of the presence of God.

In your everyday life, the opportunities for prayer become incalculable. Send up brief prayers for those who seem to be tired or disillusioned or pray thoughts of joy with those who are joyful. You need never be at a loss for things to pray for, provided you practice prayer in every situation of life.

By broadening your devotional base, your devotional times with God become more profound. While practicing praying for others, you are strengthening your ties with Jesus Christ.

Prayer:
Lord God, thank You that I may come to You in prayer for advice and guidance. Thank You for Your Spirit that teaches us to pray. Amen.

MAKE PRAYER YOUR MOTIVATIONAL POWER

Scripture:

“When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.” – Matthew 6:7

Message:

There are many people who do not give serious thought to their prayers to God. They have a fixed pattern that used to be meaningful but through repetition has lost its meaning.

When you spend time in the presence of the living God, and you are sharing your wishes with Him, you must be seriously mindful of the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Ask Him while you pray if there is anything that you can do to make your prayer life more fertile. Believe in your prayers and then leave everything in God’s hands and see how He works in your life.

Prayer:

Father, through Christ I wish to glorify you as my Father. Grant that I, through the guidance of Your Holy Spirit, may be obedient in my quiet times with you. Amen.

TAKE TIME TO PRAY

Scripture:

“None of us lives to himself alone.” – Romans 14:7

Message:

People always find the time to do the things they want to do, but are quick to find excuses for not doing the things they don’t want to do. This happens in our spiritual life.

If you are making excuses as to why you can’t pray or spend time with God, ask yourself why you are making these excuses. Why is your prayer life without power? Why has your faith become a burden instead of an inspiration of hope and faith?

This happens when you no longer reach out to God in prayer, or if you only ever express your personal desires. True prayer broadens your spiritual and intellectual horizons, and makes your relationship with the Saviour more profound.

Prayer:

O Lord, please help me to develop a meaningful and powerful prayer life under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

CULTIVATING SPIRITUAL GROWTH

Scripture:

“Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ.” – Ephesians 4:15

Message:

Christianity without spiritual growth cannot bring a deep, true joy and satisfaction. When you received Christ into your life, you did not only accept a system of doctrine’s; you promised eternal faithfulness to Him because you believe in Him. You can only understand Him better if you share your life with Him, and stop focusing on yourself.

Growing in Christ is not an exercise meant to create a comfortable religious feeling far removed from the hard realities of life – it should rather inspire the believer to positive action.

Renew your prayer life; rediscover the Spirit of Christ in the Scriptures and see how growth in Christ will lead you to new dimensions of life.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, make my faith a dynamic power through the renewal of my prayer life and Bible Study. Amen.

TOGETHER WITH GOD

Scripture
“I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13.
Message

The Holy Spirit of God, who fills God’s entire Creation, can also live in your heart. Accepting this truth releases the power of God in your life. When you think of yourself as a part of God’s revelation of Himself, you enter into an intimacy with Him that will bring strength, balance, and vitality to your life.

When you realize that God created you, and that you are governed by His Spirit, you can also realize that your life should live up to His expectations. You no longer live to please yourself, but rather to do His will.

Through the grace of God and His Spirit, you can live a life pleasing to Him through the strength of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer
Merciful Lord Jesus, I accept the gift of the Holy Spirit, and therefore I can enjoy intimate fellowship with You, my Lord and my God. Amen.

PREPARE YOURSELF FOR LIFE THROUGH PRAYER

Scripture:

“Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Message:

The future is unknown but you can prepare for it by developing a healthy prayer life. This will provide you with strength in moments of weakness, and comfort in times of sorrow.

Many people will tell you that praying is a natural instinct. This may be true, but an effective prayer life is the result of a disciplined and sensitive attitude before God.

Share your joy with God in prayer while the sun shines and there will be no anxiety when the storm comes. You will merely share in the quiet conviction that God is in full control for every situation in life through prayer. God will do the rest!

Prayer:

How wonderful, heavenly Father, to praise and glorify You. I want to sing the praises of Your great love and faithfulness for all nations to hear. Amen.
