“The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.” – Luke 6:45
It is the quality of your inner life, not that which you pretend to be, that is significant. For a while you may be able to present a false front, but a time will come when storm clouds gather and you will be put to the test.
Cultivating a practical spiritual life is the most important exercise that one can undertake. It influences every aspect of your life and creates moral stamina, which enables you to rise victoriously above inner weaknesses.
When you live in harmony with God and allow the Holy Spirit to work in you, you will experience a motivating force in your life that will be reflected in your behavior.
Lord, teach me to fix my eyes on you more and more. I want to devote my whole life to you. Amen.
