GIDEON’S VICTORY SECRETS

“He divided the 300 men into three companies, and he put into the hands of all of them trumpets…And he said to them, look at me, then do likewise…do as I do.” Judges 7:16-17 Amplified Bible

Israel was vastly outnumbered, and their enemy had superior resources. Yet they were victorious. Why were they so successful? Because God gave them success.

Even though they had comparatively few men, they were unified, and acted as a team, under Gideon’s leadership. No one followed an independent strategy. Inspired by God, Gideon had given them a plan that ordered every activity very carefully. Each man had a specific assignment, and knew what to do. Gideon also gave them a clear plan of attack, with a specific timetable.

And every man completed his personal assignment and followed the directions carefully. The result was an overwhelming victory at a time when defeat seemed inevitable.

Here, we learn many important principles that apply to our lives. First, we need to realize that God has given each of us special, specific assignments, tasks He has assigned to no one else. If we want victory, we need to fulfill our God-given assignment, at the right time, and in the right way. And we need to do our part in the Body of Christ, serving together with our brothers and sisters.

If you want to experience victory, make sure you know your personal assignment. What is your calling? Your burden? If you are not sure, ask God to make clear His plan for you.

You can be sure that God wants you to be victorious in every area of your life. Don’t look to the world, the flesh, or your own abilities. Rather, trust in Him, and obey His Word. Allow Him to clarify His assignments for you and fulfill your place in the Body. Then, obey Him, and trust Him to bring you victory!
